Driver

If you were the driver and were involved in an accident that wasn’t your fault you may be able to claim for compensation.

If you are involved in a road traffic accident you have to stop and exchange information with the driver with whom you had a collision. The information which you should exchange:

• Name, surname and the address of the driver
• Name, surname and the address of the car owner (if different)
• Made, model, colour and vehicle registration number
• Any injuries sustained
• Insurance company and policy number

If the other driver involved does not stop or does not want to exchange details, you should call the police immediately.

Passenger

As passengers are not usually at fault during an accident they can claim for compensation even when it is your driver at fault.

Motorcyclist

If you were hit or knocked down by another vehicle you can claim for compensation. You can claim for damage to your vehicle, loss of earnings and general damages.

Pedestrian

You can claim for compensation if you are not at fault and a motor vehicle collided with you.
